Top RPG Games for July 2018

When we’re not reading fantasy, many book worms are immersing themselves into a fantasy world through roleplaying games (RPGs). It’s the next best thing when an escape from reality is needed. So let’s look at the top RPG games on the market for July 2018!

Top RPG GamesWinner of more than 200 Game of the Year Awards, Skyrim Special Edition brings the epic fantasy to life in stunning detail.

The game’s main story revolves around the player character’s quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The game is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open-world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Top RPG GamesThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a next-generation story-driven open world role-playing game.

Based on The Witcher series of fantasy novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, it is the sequel to the 2011 game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Played in an open world with a third-person perspective, players control protagonist Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a Witcher, who is looking for his missing adopted daughter on the run from the Wild Hunt: an otherworldly force determined to capture and use her powers. Players battle the game’s many dangers with weapons and magic, interact with non-player characters, and complete main-story and side quests to acquire experience points and gold, which are used to increase Geralt’s abilities and purchase equipment. Its central story has several endings, determined by the player’s choices at certain points in the game.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Top RPG GamesStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic takes place just a few years after the Mandolorian Wars, thousands of years before the events in the Star Wars movies we know and love. Two Jedi, master Revan and his apprentice Malak, led the Republic’s forces to victory and pursued the Mandalorians into deep space only to return as Dark Jedi at the head of a huge fleet of Sith warships. Only the Force powers of the Jedi Bastila prevented the Sith from overwhelming the Republic’s weakened forces. At the start of the game Malak has usurped control of the Sith by betraying Revan and has attacked the ship carrying Bastila and yourself. In true Star Wars style, the game begins with a bang.

  1. There is something about Skyrim that makes you keep coming back. I have led the rebellion and crushed it, defeated the Vampires, stolen and murdered my way to the top in the thieves guild and dark brotherhood. Yet despite all that, I am yet to finish the main story line. I may get around to it one day.

Other games may have surpassed it technically, but I have never returned to a game as often as I have Skyrim. I have just over 500 hours in it.
