Welcome to the Book Tavern, home of the best fantasy books!
The concept for the Book Tavern was bounced back and forth between Joshua Robertson and Lilian Oake for many years before the exceptional minds at iCreateDaily helped them bring it to life. While Joshua and Lilian are each published authors and bloggers, they had yet to find an avenue to fully share their joy for fantasy and other works of fiction. Creating an online hub to feed their nerdy appetite was clearly the best option.
Therefore, the Book Tavern is a relaxed haven for fans of fantasy to come and geek out about their favorite books, movies, and other nerd paraphernalia. Our purpose is not only to share what is new and upcoming in fantasy but also to share what gems in the genre should never be forgotten.
Why the name the Book Tavern? As writers, we see our lives as stories worth telling. We live them. We reflect on them. We cherish them. A tavern is a lively place where old and new friends gather and have the chance to experience the stories of others. In the Book Tavern, we want to make some noise, joining together with friends, family, and all lovers of fantasy. We have met many amazing people over the years. So for those who have hung around since the early days, as well as any who are joining for the first time, you have our thanks. We could not ask for a better group of people in which to share our love of fantasy!
WHO ARE WE?
Joshua Robertson is an award-winning and bestselling author in fantasy fiction. He is also a Licensed Master Social Worker, who received his degree from Wichita State University. He worked with children and families for over fifteen years in a variety of unique venues: a residential behavior school, a psychiatric treatment facility, and the child welfare system. He has functioned as a supervisor, an educator, a behavior specialist, and a therapist during his career. Mr. Robertson has presented trainings for hundreds of professionals and military personnel on topics that include child abuse and neglect, human trafficking, strengthening the parent and child relationships, and the neurobiological impact of trauma.
You may recognize him as the dude whose dragons were said to destroy George R.R. Martin’s and Christopher Paolini’s dragons in a very biased Twitter poll. His first novel, Melkorka, was released in 2015, and he has been writing fantasy fiction like clockwork ever since. Known most for his Thrice Nine Legends Saga, Robertson enjoys an ever-expanding and extremely loyal following of readers.
He currently lives in North Carolina with his better half and his horde of goblins.
L.F Oake (AKA Lilian Oake) is an international bestselling author of teen and adult fantasy. She is best known for Nahtaia: A Jaydürian Adventure, which boasts a whopping 3.7 million online hits. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she moved to North Carolina where she writes full time and is hard at work on her next book. When she is not writing, she is educating her horde of goblins in the ways of Middle Earth and Narnia with the help of her husband.
